The 2023 Volunteer Impact Report highlights the impact of volunteers on the community and showcases why and how they are an important part of the City of Santa Clarita’s operations.

A total of 5,849 volunteers contributed 37,700 hours to the City in 2023, with an estimated value of $1.41 million and equating to 18 full-time equivalent positions. They impacted 22 City divisions and programs, and contributed to the success of 29 events, including Cowboy Festival, River Rally, Celebrate, Family Literacy Festival, Light Up Main Street, and Make a Difference Day, among others. Volunteers built three new trails and maintained 35 miles of trails in various Open Space properties, helped promote literacy through the Afterschool Homework Help and Summer Reading Programs, coached and mentored 2,800 youth athletes through Youth Sports, and did several beautification projects around the City. Some of them helped on an ongoing basis at different divisions, including the Public Library, Human Resources, and Finance.
