Many City facilities and programs offer ongoing services enhanced by the skills, talents, and enthusiasm of contributing volunteers like you.
City Hall and City Offices
As a volunteer at City Hall or other City facilities, you may assist a specific department with mailings, filing, clerical tasks, and special projects.
At the Newhall or the Canyon Country Community Centers, you may tutor students during after-school programs, instruct classes, or assist City staff at events.
Teen (14 years and older) and adult volunteers help with a variety of services in the Valencia, Canyon Country, and Old Town Newhall Libraries, including organizing, shelving, and displaying materials, assisting with programs and special projects, among others. Make a difference in your community! Afterschool homework-helpers are needed year-round. Other opportunities include helping with community festivals, English as a Second Language classes, teen events and other programs for youth and families. Help eradicate graffiti in our community! Adult volunteers are trained and provided with the equipment necessary for graffiti removal.
Santa Clarita Emergency Communications Team (SCECT)
Comprised of licensed, volunteer, amateur radio operators that offer their time, talents and equipment by supplying emergency communications to the City of Santa Clarita, and partnering agencies. Training is provided. Resume is required to apply.
(CERT) Simulation Drill
Volunteers will act as injured survivors to create a “real-world” disaster scenario.
Volunteer to be either a coach, assistant coach, scorekeeper, or other positions for Youth Sports’ seasonal programs.
